Chronic Illness Girl with Her Giveaways Prize V62 Wheelchair

CoraBeth was the lucky winner of VOCIC's Christmas giveaway and received a V62 power wheelchair. She was absolutely thrilled when she heard the news!

As we step into 2025, CoraBeth writes her wishes: “New Year, Same Me”. Living with chronic illnesses, including POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), gastroparesis, and other conditions, has shaped her journey, but it hasn’t defined her. For her, 2025 is not about becoming someone new but continuing to embrace who she is, with all her strength, struggles, and triumphs.

A Journey Through Health Challenges

Navigating daily life with chronic illness is no easy feat. Fatigue, mobility issues, and managing symptoms have all been part of her reality, yet CoraBeth remains resilient. She balances health challenges while pursuing education. Despite these obstacles, CoraBeth graduated early with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Business degree, completing her studies online to accommodate her health needs.

Family and Resilience

CoraBeth’s journey has been deeply influenced by her family, especially her father, who became paralyzed in 2010 due to a severe reaction to cough medicine. Witnessing his resilience and the unwavering support from her mother has shaped her own approach to life. Their strength, determination, and love have instilled in her the power of perseverance, even in the face of adversity.

Milestones and Personal Growth

Over the years, CoraBeth has faced multiple surgeries, including one for Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery (ARSA), a rare heart condition. Through these trials, she has learned to see her scars not as marks of weakness, but as symbols of the strength she’s gained. Celebrating nearly a year without fainting due to POTS, she continues to manage her health with a blend of lifestyle changes, medication, and occasional treatments, like IV infusions.

Sharing the Journey

With an open heart, she shares her experiences online, using platforms like Instagram and YouTube to raise awareness for “dysautonomia”, “POTS”, and other chronic illnesses. Her transparency about her health struggles serves to inspire others who are fighting their own battles.

Embracing the Small Wins

For CoraBeth, progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth, resilience, and the small victories that make a difference. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones during Thanksgiving, navigating the complexities of chronic illness, or simply finding a moment of peace, she encourages others to celebrate their own small wins. Her message to the world is clear: “You are enough”—and that’s a powerful reminder for anyone facing challenges.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As she steps into the new year, her focus remains on progress rather than perfection. She aims to continue growing, improving her health, and finding joy in the journey. The scars she’s earned along the way are not just reminders of what she’s endured, but symbols of the strength and resilience that define her.

In the new year, she also plans to take the V62 power wheelchair to participate in more activities, inspiring others who are in similar situations.
